Alternative W Trek Program / 3 Days – 2 Nights

  • Difficulty level Moderate

About PROGRAMA W alternativa / 3 días – 2 noches.

Day 1: Hike — Approximately 22 km (7–8 hours) / Difficulty: Moderate–High At 6:30 a.m., you’ll be picked up from your accommodation and transferred to the Puerto Natales bus terminal to board the 7:00 a.m. bus to Torres del Paine. After a 2-hour journey, upon arrival at Laguna Amarga, you’ll transfer to Transporte Las Torres, which will take you to the Welcome Center. After check-in at the Refugio, we’ll begin our first hike — the Base Torres Trail. With a moderate-to-high difficulty, this 22 km route (about 8 hours of activity) is one of the most popular hikes in Torres del Paine National Park. After around 4 hours of ascent, we’ll reach the famous viewpoint to admire the three granite towers rising majestically above a glacial lake — one of the most spectacular and iconic landscapes of Chilean Patagonia. We’ll return along the same trail and spend the night at Refugio or Camping Las Torres. Day 2: Hike — 18 km (6–7 hours) / Difficulty: High This morning, a vehicle will take us from the Las Torres Welcome Center to Puerto Pudeto, where we’ll board a 30-minute catamaran ride across Lake Pehoé, offering one of the most stunning views of the Paine Range. Upon arrival at the Paine Grande area (Refugio and Camping), we’ll check in before starting our hike to the French Valley (Valle Francés) — considered one of the park’s most beautiful areas due to its dramatic granite peaks and breathtaking scenery. Nestled at the base of Paine Grande, the highest mountain in the region, this valley features the hanging French Glacier, creating an unforgettable experience. We’ll return along the same trail and spend the night at Paine Grande Refugio or Camping, located on the shores of Lake Pehoé. Day 3: Hike — 11 km (4 hours) / Difficulty: Moderate On our final day, we’ll hike between the mountain range and Lake Grey for about 4 hours (2 hours each way). After two hours of walking, we’ll reach the Grey Glacier viewpoint, where we’ll see the lake filled with floating icebergs and the glacier tongue stretching toward the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Later, we’ll return along the same trail to board the catamaran back to Puerto Pudeto, where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to Puerto Natales.
