About Tour Full Day Glaciar Perito Moreno

This full-day tour departs from Puerto Natales at 7:00 a.m. and returns around 10:00 p.m. After crossing the Chilean and Argentine borders at Cerro Castillo and Cancha Carrera, the route travels through the vast Argentine Patagonian steppe until reaching the picturesque town of El Calafate, located about 270 km north of Puerto Natales. Along the way, it’s common to spot local wildlife such as guanacos and rheas, and enjoy views of Lake Argentino and the Santa Cruz River flowing toward the Atlantic Ocean. From El Calafate, it’s another 45 minutes to 1 hour to enter Los Glaciares National Park, home to its greatest natural attraction — the Perito Moreno Glacier. This massive glacier offers a spectacular visual and sound experience, as ice calvings occur constantly — giving visitors a high chance of witnessing this remarkable natural phenomenon. What makes the Perito Moreno Glacier truly unique is not only its 30 km length and easy accessibility, but also the fact that it is one of the few glaciers in the world that is still advancing, while most others are retreating. The walkways, balconies, and viewpoints within the park allow visitors to safely approach the glacier, even those with limited mobility. After approximately two hours inside the National Park, we’ll begin our return to Puerto Natales along the same route. Notes It’s possible to take an optional boat navigation on Lake Argentino to get closer to the Perito Moreno Glacier. This can be arranged directly inside the National Park and coordinated with the local guide in El Calafate. The entrance fee to the National Park must be paid in Argentine pesos. It is recommended to exchange currency in Puerto Natales, as there will be no stops along the route, except at the border crossing.
