The Isla Magdalena Tour offers the opportunity to visit a unique ecosystem. Located in the Strait of Magellan, Isla Magdalena is a Chilean island declared a Natural Monument and home to thousands of Magellanic penguins (also known as Patagonian penguins). You’ll be able to admire and photograph incredible species such as cormorants, southern gulls, Antarctic pigeons, sea lions, and elephant seals — all protected wildlife species. While direct interaction is not permitted, the disembarkation on Isla Magdalena allows for an unforgettable experience walking among these charming penguins and other seabirds, surrounded by the stunning southern Patagonian landscape. An unforgettable journey that lets you appreciate the impressive and unique geography of the southernmost regions of the world. Schedules From Puerto Natales Departure: 10:00 a.m. Return: Approximately 9:30 p.m. (Full-day tour) From Punta Arenas Departure: 7:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Return: 12:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. Description – Departure from Puerto Natales An unforgettable experience — Isla Magdalena is home to one of the largest Magellanic penguin colonies, with over 150,000 birds. During the navigation, it’s also possible to spot Peale’s dolphins and Commerson’s dolphins. At 1:00 p.m., check-in will take place at the boarding dock. A private transfer will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Natales at 10:00 a.m. and take you to the port. The activity lasts approximately 3.5 hours. Afterward, we’ll return to Puerto Natales, arriving at your accommodation around 9:30 p.m. Description – Departure from Punta Arenas An unforgettable experience — Isla Magdalena allows you to walk among one of the largest Magellanic penguin colonies, exceeding 150,000 individuals. During the navigation, it’s also possible to observe Peale’s dolphins and Commerson’s dolphins. Pick-up will take place between 6:45 and 7:45 a.m. or 1:15 and 2:15 p.m., with departure at 8:00 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. The navigation lasts approximately 3.5 hours. After returning to the dock at 12:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., you’ll be transferred directly back to your accommodation. Note In case the navigation is canceled due to weather conditions, a refund will be issued for the navigation service only. The transportation service is non-refundable.
