As a top predator in the food chain, it is difficult to spot in the wild, which is why one must venture deep into its natural habitat to photograph it.

Pumas are most active during twilight hours — at dawn and dusk — when sightings become more likely. Within the Torres del Paine National Park, these animals inhabit specific areas well known to our expert guides. During the excursion, it’s also possible to observe other native wildlife such as guanacos, foxes, huemules (native deer), condors, eagles, and many more.

Descripción de la actividad:
At 5:30 a.m., we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Puerto Natales to begin our excursion toward the northern area of the Última Esperanza Province. We’ll pass through Cerro Castillo, a rural settlement located in the heart of the Patagonian steppe near the Argentinian border. From here, we’ll continue across the vast Magellanic plains, gradually approaching the towering mountains to the west.

Our journey will take us through the areas of Lake Sarmiento and Laguna Amarga, with the Paine mountain range as a constant and stunning backdrop. We’ll walk along trails frequently used by pumas, observe native wildlife, and visit ancient cave paintings dating back over 11,000 years.

We’ll spend the entire day tracking the elusive puma, immersing ourselves in its natural habitat.
