Description:
The Eberhard fjord is a place full of history, in its coasts are the towns Puerto Prat and Puerto Consuelo, the nucleus of European colonization in this area of Patagonia. 30 minutes from Puerto Natales, we will arrive to Puerto Prat, where we will get ready with the right clothes to get into the sea to kayak, we make an instructive safety talk and we start the adventure.
The paddling begins in Puerto Prat in the direction to Estancia Puerto Consuelo, bordering Isla de los Muertos, the first cemetery in the area over 100 years old. During the adventure we will see many birds such as black necked swans, coscorobas swans, taguas, ducks, and flamingos, among others. On the way back we will make a short stop to walk to a viewpoint from where we can appreciate the Ultima Esperanza and Eberhard Fjords, and the great Paine Mountain towards the north.
We go back to the kayaks to return to Puerto Prat where we will visit an old house of descendant’s settles, who will receive us with a hot drink and tasty sopaipillas with homemade jam. Later we return to Puerto Natales.
