Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers Navigation Tour

To sail the southern seas is a truly special experience, and this trip includes, at its destination, the amazing sight of an imposing mantle glacier sliding down the mountainside. On board the motor boats that plough through the waters of the Fjord of Última Esperanza we will arrive in around 3½ hours at the Balmaceda Glacier and mountain of the same name. The sail itself is a constant tour that is planned with stops at the cormorant colony, at the caves of the sea lions and at the condor cliffs and waterfalls.

After visiting the Balmaceda Glacier which can only be observed from the boat, we can disembark at Puerto Toro, a place surrounded by a dense forest of coihue beech trees, and then take a short walk to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Serrano Glacier and its delightful lagoon. There is a footpath about a kilometer long that leads right to the base of the glacier. After about 1 ½ hours enjoying this place we will sail back along the fjord calling in at the Estancia Perales, where each passenger will be welcomed with a large bowl of hot soup, homemade bread, a barbecue of Magellanic lamb, salads, potatoes and either a glass of wine, a soft drink or mineral water.

Check in time is at 07:30 and the return to Puerto Natales is at 18:30 (approximately).

Services included:

Bilingual Guide-Spanish/English
Trek of 1 km
Lamb barbecue + glass of wine or soft drink
Pisco sour aperitif with ice from the glacier
